Marrakech → Ait Benhaddou → Dades Gorge → Todra Gorge → Merzouga Desert Camp → Marrakech
This is our most-booked route: a fixed-departure group trip that takes you from Marrakech, over the High Atlas passes, through Berber valleys and dramatic gorges, and into the Sahara for a camel trek and overnight desert camp — all shared with a small group of fellow travelers.
Transport, driver-guide, and accommodation are shared across the group, which keeps the per-person cost far below a private itinerary covering the same route.
≈210 km · about 3.5 hrs driving. Early morning group pickup in Marrakech. Cross the High Atlas via Tizi n'Tichka pass, stop at the Ait Benhaddou kasbah (a UNESCO World Heritage site), and continue through the Valley of Roses to an overnight stay in the Dades Valley.
≈235 km total · about 4.5 hrs driving. Morning walk through the Dades Gorge's rock formations, then on to the towering Todra Gorge (≈55 km/1 hr) for a short hike. Continue across the desert plains to Merzouga (≈180 km/3.5 hrs), gateway to the Sahara.
Late afternoon camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes, arriving at a shared Berber-style desert camp in time for sunset. Dinner around the fire, live music, and a night under the stars.
≈560 km total · about 8.5 hrs driving with stops. Optional sunrise over the dunes before camels carry the group back to Merzouga. Scenic drive back across the Atlas (≈350 km/5.5 hrs), with a stop in Ouarzazate, then a final ≈210 km/3.5 hrs to Marrakech by evening.
Three nights, shared throughout. Expect the same style and price bracket as these real budget properties in each location.
A simple kasbah-style guesthouse, comparable to Le Petit Riad (Ouarzazate) or the palm-grove guesthouses near Ait Benhaddou — mudbrick rooms, terrace views, home-cooked dinners.
A shared Berber-style camp at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, comparable to Hostel La Palmeraie or Nómade Nest Hostel — dorm-style tents, shared bathrooms, campfire music.
Want your own room or tent instead of sharing? A private upgrade is available on every night — let us know when booking, subject to availability.
Groups are capped at 16 travelers to keep things sociable without losing the personal touch. Departures run every Saturday year-round — reserve early in peak season (October–April) as routes sell out.

Yes — the €249 price is based on a shared twin or dorm-style room. A private room upgrade is available on request for an additional cost.
Desert nights get cold even in summer — bring a warm layer, plus sunscreen, a scarf or hat for wind and sun, and comfortable walking shoes.
Absolutely — most of our travelers on this route arrive solo. You'll be paired with a same-gender roommate for shared rooms unless you book a private upgrade.
Unlike many group operators, our departures run on fixed weekly dates regardless of group size — your trip runs even if only a few seats are booked.
